There’s something wonderfully grounding about slowing down in the Cotswolds. Rolling fields, dry stone walls, and skies that feel just that little bit bigger \u2014 it’s the sort of place that seems to press pause on the bustle of everyday life. For us, that pause came in the shape of a stay at Cotswold Farm Park Lodges, a perfect countryside hideaway where comfort and nature go hand in hand.<\/p>\n

From the moment we opened the lodge door, my little one was wide-eyed. The space felt like a home wrapped up in warmth, with plenty of room to play and snuggle. The lodges are thoughtfully kitted out with everything a family might need \u2014 a cot and high chair ready and waiting, plenty of modern amenities, and a decking area with outside space for running about, playing, or just soaking up the views.<\/p>\n

But the real excitement came from outside: our very own wood-fired hot tub tucked neatly on the deck, steam rising into the cool evening air. The smell of the fire was incredible! Watching the sun set over the fields from that hot tub was a treat for us grown-ups \u2014 but for my child, running around in our own garden space and laughing under the open sky, it was pure magic.<\/p>\n

By day, we had the joy of wandering through Adam Henson’s Cotswold Farm Park, which is right on the doorstep. Access is included, so popping over to feed the animals or explore the play areas became a natural part of our day. My little one adored meeting the friendly goats and watching the pigs and horses; it felt like a hands-on storybook of farm life.<\/p>\n

The scenery surrounding the lodges is equally enchanting. Early mornings were greeted by birdsong and mist lifting from the fields, while late afternoons were best spent spotting rabbits darting in the hedgerows. There’s a sense of closeness to nature that can be hard to find elsewhere, and it makes even the simplest moments \u2014 sitting with a cup of tea on the deck beneath a stunning sunset \u2014 feel special.<\/p>\n

One evening, we ventured just a short drive away to The Hare in Milton-under-Wychwood, and it quickly became a highlight of our trip. Located within the Cotswolds triangle of Burford, Chipping Norton and Stow-on-the-Wold, this country pub is a must-visit. Behind the Milton stone fa\u00e7ade of the ancient building lies a charming, stylish interior with the warmest of welcomes. The staff couldn’t have been lovelier, and the food was exactly what you want from a country pub lunch. The burger was hearty and comforting, the side of mac and cheese was indulgent and unforgettable, and everything tasted even better alongside a crisp glass of cold white wine.<\/p>\n

Back at the lodge, under a blanket of stars, we felt worlds away from everything, yet entirely at home. Cotswold Farm Park Lodges are more than just a place to stay; they’re a place to create memories. For us, it was the laughter of a child discovering farm life, the calm of a hot tub in the dusk, and the simple joy of being surrounded by nature. A true countryside escape, and one we’ll remember for years to come.<\/p>\n
