The weekend saw crowds of more than 150,000 transported back in time to the Goodwood Motor Circuit\u2019s heyday between 1948 and 1966, when the West Sussex venue was a regular fixture on the international motoring scene. From Friday 12 to Sunday 14 September, spectators and classic car enthusiasts celebrated the timeless spirit of racing at this year\u2019s Goodwood Revival, with Rolex Testimonees going head-to-head on the legendary track and triumphing at the finish line. Rolex has been the Official Timepiece of the gathering and Title Sponsor of the Rolex Drivers\u2019 Club since 2004, honouring the event\u2019s commitment to this bygone era and the storied journeys which play out on and off the track.<\/p>\n
Founded by The Duke of Richmond in 1998, the Goodwood Revival is a dazzling display of cars, costumes, and characters, which create a unique sense of camaraderie. At the Rolex Drivers\u2019 Club, racing heroes and their families find a second home, reunited in their shared love of the sport\u2019s past and present. Among them this year were a trio of Rolex Testimonees and well-known faces at the event: Sir Jackie Stewart, Tom Kristensen, and Jenson Button.<\/p>\n
Taking a break from the 2025 FIA World Endurance Championship, Button started the race weekend in exemplary fashion, claiming his first Goodwood Revival victory in the Freddie March Memorial Trophy at the wheel of his 1952 Jaguar C-Type. Speaking of his maiden win at the Goodwood Revival, with his family watching on, Button says:<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Revival is one of my favourite weekends of the year and it was fantastic to return and compete alongside close friends. Taking my C-Type to victory with Alex Buncombe was a special moment \u2013 my first win at Goodwood and in this car which has so much racing history. The Settrington Cup was especially meaningful as well. Watching my two children race alongside one another, with the whole family supporting, was truly memorable.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Tom Kristensen\u2019s Double Triumph and Reflections<\/h3>\n
On Sunday, the circuit set the stage for a meeting of motor sport champions as the British racing legend competed alongside Kristensen in the Royal Automobile Club TT Celebration. The Danish nine-time winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans was fresh from a spectacular victory in the St. Mary\u2019s Trophy Part 1 on Saturday afternoon, having previously earned the winner\u2019s wreath in the same race in 2010 and 2015. Kristensen reflects on his memories at the Goodwood Motor Circuit:<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s 15 years since I first came to the glorious Goodwood Revival and I\u2019ve returned almost every year since. The St Mary\u2019s is a great race, the competitiveness and the drivers it attracts are of a high level. We won the race in 2010 and in 2015 and it\u2019s very special to win all these years later. The Revival is about so much more than winning \u2013 we are celebrating the great history of our sport while enjoying past times with fellow racers, family, and passionate fans.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Commenting on the atmosphere in the Rolex Drivers\u2019 Club after the race, Kristensen continues:<\/p>\n

Tribute to Jim Clark and Sir Jackie Stewart\u2019s Legacy<\/h2>\n
This year\u2019s Revival paid an emotional tribute to the late Jim Clark. It was 60 years ago, on the sweeping corners of the Goodwood Motor Circuit in 1965, that Clark and Sir Jackie recorded identical lap times of 1 minute 20.4 seconds \u2013 a feat that remains unchallenged and stands as a testament to their immense talent. The Scotsmen\u2019s rivalry defined an era of racing, while their deep mutual respect transcended the sport. To mark the milestone, The Duke and Duchess of Richmond presented Sir Jackie with the Goodwood Ton Trophy in honour of his contribution to the motoring world and in memory of his dear friend. Part of the Rolex family of Testimonees since 1968, Sir Jackie has returned to the Revival year after year, keeping alive the memories of this golden age of racing while making monumental strides for the next generation.<\/p>\n
Timeless Elegance and Rolex\u2019s Perpetual Legacy<\/h2>\n
The immersive energy and nostalgia extended far beyond the racetrack and stood firm under the unpredictable British skies. Families arrived in carefully curated period attire and drivers prepared to race in front of their loved ones, sharing the emotions and celebrating the sport that they have dedicated their lives to. As the hum of engines softened and the event drew to a close, Rolex continued its tradition of awarding a specially engraved timepiece to the Driver of the Meeting, recognising Chris Ward for his passion for motor racing and competing on the track.
