Main Types of Leather by Tanning Process<\/h2>\n

Leather is classified in several ways, so for clarity, this guide uses the tanning process for category reference.<\/p>\n

Chrome Tanned Leather<\/h3>\n

It\u2019s the most common type of leather used. The tanning process binds collagen and chromium while increasing protein space. The process creates leather that is shrink-resistant, stretchable, and found in a variety of products.<\/p>\n

Vegetable Tanned Leather<\/h3>\n

When you want strong, durable, stiff leather, go for the vegetable tanning process.
